Cappoquin Community Centre is managed and operated by Cappoquin Community Development Company CLG. The Centre incorporates a Creche, Preschool, Afterschool, Adult Education in conjunction with the Waterford Wexford Education and Training Board, Gymnasium, Commercial Kitchen, Meeting Rooms, Stage, Theatre and Sports Hall.
Cappoquin Community Development Company CLG approached South East Energy Agency looking to reduce both their carbon footprint and energy costs. The team at South East Energy Agency coordinated the entire BEC application from the initial energy audit, procurement to warranty checks and all required paperwork
Due to centre’s range of facilities, high usage, and its construction date led to a very high demand for energy use. Cappoquin wanted to mitigate rising energy costs for the building by making improvements to existing systems and adopting renewable energy on-site
The South East Energy Agency team conducted an energy audit and had a look at the electricity consumption and current connection. As part of the energy upgrade project, our team of experts coordinated the lighting system upgrade, wall and floor cavity insulation upgrade and the installation of a 15 kW PV solar system.
Thanks to the installation of PV panels, lighting upgrades and floor cavity insulation Cappoquin Community Centre saved money and reduced its carbon footprint through the BEC 2021 Programme.
