Ash Lane Farm is a large dairy farm located in Newbawn, Co.Wexford. The farm’s traditional and inefficient milk cooling system was consuming significant amounts of energy. This was intensified by the fact that the cows were milked twice a day throughout the entire year, imposing additional energy to keep the fresh milk chilled.

Ash Lane Farm approached South East Energy Agency looking to reduce both their carbon footprint and energy costs. The team at South East Energy Agency coordinated the entire SEAI Community Energy Grant application from the initial energy audit, procurement to warranty checks and all required paperwork.

The South East Energy Agency team had a look at the electricity consumption and current connection. As part of the project, our team of experts coordinated the installation of a new 4kW Cooling and DHW system including new ice builder, 300 litre heat exchanger, 200 litre hot water cylinder, controls, pumps, valves. 7.2 kW Solar PV installation with a 5 Kw battery storage system

Benefits

Thanks to the installation of PV panels, and new ice cooling system Ash Lane Farm saved money and reduced its carbon footprint through the Community Energy Grant Programme.
